Recommended amount

The recommended minimum practice regime is 1 session a day, 30 minutes per session, 5 days a week. The recommended practice regime for a dedicated student is 2 sessions a day, 45 minutes per session, 5 days a week.

Weekends and Holidays

On weekends and holidays, give yourself a break and have fun playing around on the instrument. Don't force yourself to stick to the routine.

Practice Routine

  1. Warm Up. Stretch and prepare to play your instrument. Breathe deeply. Relax.

  2. Universal Improvisation Practice.

  3. Foundation Practice. Long tones, scales, exercises, classical repertoire.

  4. Main Practice. Set goal. Practice. Record progress. Repeat as needed.

  5. Cool Down. Stretch. Breathe deeply. Relax. Congratulate yourself!
